Entertainment
The Zuni Indians did things that we sometimes do now for entertainment. They make pottery, and Jewelry out of Turquoise and Silver. They sometimes did dances and had a wild belief in many things!! The Zuni Indians also did a lot of silversmithing!!! Silversmithing is a thing where people craft and carve silver!!! Just like they made there pottery and jewley!! The Zuni Indians seemed to do a lot of things we do today and a lot we don't!!
_________Religion
The Zuni Native Americans had beliefs, like many people. But they had 1 main belief. That belief was called the Zuni Way. The Zuni Way was basically a belief in Nature and Harmony. They believed that things were all together in peace!! The Zuni Indians also believed in the Sun father and the Moonlight giving mother, the moon and the sun.
Culture
The Zuni Native Americans had there own culture, of course!! They seemed to speak a Zuni Language, unrelated to any other Native American Language!! Some people that are related to Zuni Indians still fallow tradition!! They did a lot of ceremonies and dances too. People that are related to Zuni Indians are relying on pottery like the Zuni tribe did!! The Zuni culture is different, but the same to other Native American Tribes

Information about the Zuni Native American Tribe/ Food + Climate
The Zuni Native American Tribe
__________Food___________
The Zuni Native American Tribe ate close to what we eat today. The Zuni Native Americans ate a lot of vegetables. They were mostly vegetarians but ate a lot of meat when it was available. When meat was not available, they stuck to 3 vegetables. Those were corn, beans, and squash. When meat was available they mostly had deer and antelope. Since the desert area in New Mexico was so hot, that made it complicated for the Zuni Indians
_________Climate__________
The area around the Zuni Indians was like any old desert!! In the winter it was mostly high 52 and lowest 12. In the summer the high was usually 80 and the lowest was 40. The weather helped them build there houses!! The Adobe clay that they used to build there Pueblo's dries easier in the sun. It also affected how they ate!! Many animals could not survive in the hot weather, so they usually ate vegetables. They had to grow vegetables though, and any kind of plant is not good with hot weather!! The Climate was good and bad for the Zuni Indians.

Zuni Native American Journal
Native American Journal
Hello Journal!!!
Today was an amazing day!!! This is how my day went!!:
Today I woke up with mama shaking me. She said " Tala!!! Breakfast is ready!!! It is your favorite...." I finally agreed to wake-up and got dressed. I stood on the balcony of our pueblo. I smelled the air, and it smelled like corn, beans and a hint of squash. I looked down and saw my brother Taima by the coal. He was warming his hand's and looked up and moved his hand in a motion that I knew to come down. I rushed down the stairs and the sturdy ladder. When I reached the coal pit I sat down next to him. He smiled at me and continued talking to his friends. I asked him as we were walking up "Is there going to be a hunt?". Our tribe had to try to find food, because our area is hot and dry. Taima told me that there was a search for buffalo today. He said "There is a search today, and I'm going!!!" I wondered if I could sneak along. Usually girls stay at home, and I hated cleaning!! But I loved hunting... Watching the men hold there arrows and let them go... an experience that I will never get besides now, because they have you do more chores as you grow up!! I decided to tell mama that I was fetching water at the far river, so I would walk back with the hunters. I got my bag and a knife and by brother's spare bow and arrow. I grabbed some corn and my pot and followed the men to the dessert. I hid behind some rocks and waited till' they got about 5 feet away. Then I found another rock and snuck back there. I repeated that pattern until they were in the direction of the river and I came out. I caught up to Taima and pulled him aside. I whispered "Taima! I am pretending to go down to the river and secretly following you!!!!!". Taima looked weirdly at me and made a movement with his hand to follow him. I followed him for 30 minutes and came to a stop when we decided to turn back. When they came toward the river I got water and hustled to camp. Taima the "Teller" told Mama that I went hunting and she found the arrow in my bag. We usually have corn and beans for dinner but she said no corn for dinner, just beans.....
That was weird, Mama never gave punishments. She started saying that I was not allowed to go hunting and I told her " I won't go again, it WAS BORING!!!" And that was true!!!! This day was strange and cool!!!

Why there is rain and thunder
By: Maggie Andries In the days of when water was scarce, there were two young warriors. The warriors were named Huyana (girl, her name means rain), and Taima (boy, his name means thunder). They had always wanted to be the most powerful warriors of the world. One day, in the middle of a Sunday in June, the two warriors went on a walk. They were talking about what they had caught that day. Huyana had caught a deer and Taima had caught a bear. Huyana was thinking about the feast that they would have that night, “MMMM..... deer and bear... a meal that Lutakawi would be proud of!!!” They were fetching water after they dropped off the catch at camp. Taima suddenly blurt out when they were kneeling to fetch water; “When Lutakawi was saying thank you, I'm pretty sure he looked at me, and he only thanked me. I am better skilled than you. I mean a deer?? A bear can feed 2 clans!! A deer... barley 1!!!!!” Taima blushed as Huyana stared in horror.
“W-W-W-WHAT????” She said with a tear in her eye. Huyana was very sensitive and Taima forgot that!! Taima stammered “I-I-I'm I didn't mean that!!!” Huyana was now sniffling and had a face as if she had told Taima a secret and he had told everybody, mixed with as if Mama had been shot with an arrow, shot by him. She picked up her pot and ran away, in the opposite direction of camp!!! “Huyana is terrible with directions!!!” He thought. He picked up his pot, knife and set it on a rock. “HUYANA!!! HUYANA!!!” He yelled. Suddenly he saw Huyana laying on a rock. He slowed down to a run and knelt at the rock. He shook her awake and she was crying. “I-I-I thought I saw moonlight father... f-father...” she pointed yo the sky and fainted.
There was Sunlight Mother and Moonlight father!!! They came closer down to them. Moonlight father sprinkled stardust on Huyana and she woke up. “I have a task for you.” The Moonlight father said. “What he means is that we have been trying to find you, but you are so quick and talented you get away!” Sunlight Mother said slowly. “We were never trying to hide from you though...” Taima said quickly. “Yes well we appeared differently, we appeared as 2 ravens and you dislike them don't you!” The Moonlight father said. Taima and Huyana both nodded. “Well as we said, we have a task... We need you to preform 2 tasks, one from me and one from the Moonlight father. My task for Taima is to catch 10 bears and put them in the lake” The Sunlight giving mother said. “None for our tribe-” Taima stammered and shed a tear. “ Will we get an reward?” Huyana said. “Well, if you do our tasks by 12:00 by Tuesday, 2 days from now.” Said the Moonlight giving father.
“Huyana, I will now choose your task... You will make your own garden, and any seed’s you get, you must toss into the same lake! You will have to collect 12 seeds.” He added. Huyana grumble and muttered corn, beans and squash. “You can start any time, and I can tell when you drop things into the lake so no need to find me... and I will watch you so no cheating!!! Meet us back here!!!” They both said in unison. That same day Taima caught 4 bears and Huyana had tossed 5 seed’s into the lake. It was dinner and they had eaten the catch and they were in there bed’s.
On the next morning they ate and went to get more seed’s and hunt more bears. They had lunch when Taima had caught 4 more bears and Huyana had tossed 5 more seed’s. they were both 2 away!!!!! Taima had gone to bed and Huyana had gotten another seed. They rested and woke up. They looked at the sun... 11:00!!! Only another hour to get 2 Bear's and allot of people were out of seed’s!! They ran off to get the stuff and with 10 minute's left Taima had found his last bear. With only 5 minute's left Taima threw the bear into the lake and Huyana had found the last seed. They went over to the rock and waited. The Moonlight Father came down and the Sunlight Mother right behind. “Well done Huyana, you have completed your task!! You can choose a type of nature for your reward, weather, animal, food, anything!!!” Huyana thought about a food called a sunberry, a berry that has all the joyful taste of the sun!!! Then she got it “Since water is scarce, I want water to fall from the sky!!” She blurted. “Well, how bout we call it... Rain!!!! Your name can mean rain!!!” The Moonlight Father said. “Oh goodies!!!” she said jumping up and down.
Now Taima could hardly wait for his prize!! “Well done Taima... For your award you will choose a type of nature. A weather a animal, anything!! Taima stared. He was thinking about a kind of animal that was easy to hunt and there was allot of a animal called a slowbeary
